+1 Windows PC's are over priced pieces of junk.

The only people here to argue against Apple have to be industry plants. How else can anyone be so blind to the quality of Macs versus Windows machines?

    Thinkpads are built incredibly well.

I know what you're saying though, MOST windows laptops are crap.

there are copious and abundant examples of self-centered, amoral, greedy bastards preaching jesus to the masses:

Amen to that ... preaching should be banned ... even more so when they pass the collection plate around

As for an Atheist Bible ... forget about it.

Real non-believers are just that ... no need to waste time reading crap people are trying to sell.

    Just more annoying preachers

Being a Brazilian I can easily say that not only import taxes are high here - hiring people is one hell of an expensive move too. It`s actually one of the big reasons why lots of companies do not have factories here! Most of them go to China - that`s where production is cheap.
Even if Foxconn decides to pay the minimun wage here, there`s still so many taxes, fees and other stuff that they`ll have to pay for the workers that I find it hard for it to be good at all for either Apple or Fox.

So.. if you were waiting for this move to reduce the prices on :apple: gadgets, keep waiting.. because it`s more likely they will raise it even more :p

I don`t know but I`m a bit skeptical about this. Especially since we`re talkin about 12U$ billion!

I personally think with the uptake of more Apple systems and the perception of better security on Apple systems many people see this as a challange to break a Mac (ala Hack a Mac).

But wait! Doesn't Apple's miniscule market-share mean that hackers won't target Macs because there is nothing to be gained? Better off targeting the 95% of Windows-running machines out there? I think this story proves again that the "security through obscurity" argument is just a myth. :)

I hardly think you know what percentage of the time these programs are abused.

Are these programs sometimes abused? Certainly and it's a problem but unless you have numbers don't claim that these social programs are largely in vain.

I will claim that food stamps are mostly abused. I don't have numbers, but I have eyes, and have known several people that have received food stamps. I have had people I know, as well as strangers, ask me if I would buy their food stamps. I wish food stamps were limited with what you could buy, something like the way WIC does.

if they're not too pricey i might have to update, although they're gonna have to have more power than the II's, there's a piddly amount of wattage in the sub.

Doesn't look like they're worth upgrading to from the SoundSticks II.

Here's Harman Kardon page for them:
    HarmanKardon.com: SoundSticks III (http://www.harmankardon.com/EN-US/Products/Pages/ProductDetails.aspx?PID=SOUNDSTICKS3AM)

and a couple of mentions on the web:

I do. But I'm sure someone will tell us that we are idiots for thinking so and why it is sooo obvious why they don't include them. My guess is they will use loads of acronyms ;)
Well the GBT Standard Methodology of Computer Hardware End-User Inclusions (GBT-SMCHEUI, for short) indicates that any machine weighing over 9.732 lbs. Must not, under the authority of the GBT-SMCHEUI, include the hardware in question, under penalty of law. Duh.

    :D

Acually, I'm a bit surprised myself. I mean, they're not going to gain a huge amount of profit by charging people for it. Oh well, my guess in Rev. B it'll be included.

Putting aside the fact that Flash is crap ...

Yes, flash has issues, but there are several sites that I want to use from the iPhone that require it. It would be good for the iPhone to support it.

Also, there are several enterprise development shops rolling out custom enterprise applications for mobile phones. They don't want to write custom applications for the iPhone, so using Flash/Flex would definitely be attractive.

The old comments are priceless. Here's one:

"It's now at the online Apple Store!

    $400 for an Mp3 Player!

I'd call it the Cube 2.0 as it wont sell, and be killed off in a short time...and it's not really functional.

Uuhh Steve, can I have a PDA now?"

The MacBook doesn't need a Core 2 Duo processor. Apple needs to leave a gap between the MacBook and the MacBook Pro.

There's still quite a big difference between the MB and the MBP even if they both have C2D processors.
CPU speed isn't the only thing to care about you know.

Your logic is flawed. Why would the 6th generation iPhone be called iPhone 5? Apple just got out of the naming sequence and looks like will be following a numerical sequence now. It would be stupid in a marketing aspect to go from iPhone 3G to iPhone 3, as customers would like to see additional things in the name, not the removal of a letter.
    iPad -> iPad 2, iPhone 4 -> iPhone 5.
It makes the most sense, and btw when people call it "iPhone 5" they're referring it as the 5th generation iPhone because it's a faster way of saying just that.

    iPhone = iPhone 1
    iPhone 3G = iPhone 2
    iPhone 3GS = iPhone 3
    iPhone 4 = iPhone 4
    iPhone 5 = iPhone 5

In regards to the OP. I'm very excited about the iPhone 5 now, it seems as though waiting for September will be worth it if we're to see a completely revamped iOS + A5 Dual Core CPU + Upgraded GPU + 4" screen + NFC + possible LTE upgradability.

The iPhone and iPhone 3G have kicked the can update-wise, now it's your turn iPhone 3GS.

    agreed.

apple messed up when they didn't call the 3G the "iphone 2" (which was actually caused by not putting 3G in the iphone in the first place, they had to broadcast 3G capability because there was so much moaning about the original iphone being edge only), we had to have a 3GS rather than "iphone 3" to avoid confusion, and now we have the iphone 4 (note how the iphone 4 is the 4th iphone). i doubt we will see them go back to numbers and letters again and they don't need to, especially now that the iphone is such a well known device. it's capabilities don't need to be included in the name anymore.

This is my new desk setup: http://i736.photobucket.com/albums/xx1/igesundheit/DSCN0774.jpg.

The white macbook (with a screen) is a 2010 unibody white MacBook. the previous owner of it spilled coffee on it, got a new computer and gave me this one. It is my mom's new computer :D... I just havent given it to her yet... The MacBook Pro that you see in the picture is my own MacBook Pro that I paid for. The headless MacBook is a circa 2006 C2D macbook, which was also given to me. It had a dead screen, and apple quoted the previous owner an exorbitant amount, and decided that it would just be better to get a new macbook... I removed the screen, airport antennae, and isight from the display assembly. The isight is taped on to my wooden monitor stand, and the airport antennae are under the slide-out table where the headless MacBook is.

You know, i dont think apple, motorola, or IBM cares. We will, regardless almost, buy macs next time. A mac is a mac, and a mac user, never goes to a pc. They may use one in preference to a mac, but, they still look at the mac market and hope for a time when they ca move back. I did. 4 years ago i couldnt afford a mac. Now i can, guess which company has an order for two of their professional machines????

Apple doesnt care because of this.
Motorola doesnt care because they make more money elsewhere
IBM doesnt care because they sell pcs and loads of other stuff for computers so they dont need to depend on anyone.

We are 5% of people with computers. If i had to make a hardware marketing decision, which group do you think i want to please?????

Very dark and dingy interface, reminds me of some audio-editing ap. What happened to the nice white play buttons, and the bright blue scroll bars and music store.

iTunes is now much more accomplished as a sopisticated media ap, but the style really has suffured. Doesn't feel like an Apple product!

How are they coming up with the number of (gun) crimes committed by blacks? That is an important question because it is probably based on convictions. A higher percentage of blacks are arrested for crimes, which is compounded by a system (at least here) that convicts blacks at a higher rate. So, there may be a statistically disproportionate number of crimes committed by blacks, but if the system concentrates that trend, the statistics are going to seem worse than reality.
