Why wouldn't you use the same metrics you use for any other software?
How much CPU does the stuff you're serving require? How much disk space? How fast of disk?
I'm not sure why using a machine as a server makes some special case. Figure out what your server software needs.

if I run system("ls > tmp.tmp") I don't have any problem. I am getting an output to the terminal instead of writing to the file.

that is, of course, unless Leopard is to be announced as available at the keynote. (Which it won't be.)
Quite true. ;)

Apple has had so much trouble getting the white iPhone to market, it almost seems anti-climactic now. I was going to get one originally, but I'm locked into my contract now so it's irrelevant.
Seems like Apple could have left the colors to after-market suppliers, for those customers desperate for a certain look.

What operating system and browser are you using?
The Apple symbols that you're able to see are just GIF images (one of the smilies provided by this message board is an Apple logo.) You can see this one (:apple:), because it's just an image. But you can only see this one () if you have the necessary fonts installed, which all iOS devices and Macs should.
I'm running Leopard on my MDD using Firefox. My windows pc doesn't display it either, and it doesn't display if I switch to 9.2 on my MDD either.

Seriously! Hour and a half would be the most I could use, my time would be better spent on something else.
But, as long as your sister is pleased with the shots, awesome! You should see if you can post some up here when she gets them!
I'll be allowed to post. There were a ton of photo ops all over this place and the photog still didn't get to them all (even though he was working fast as were his assistants). It was a good time stalking them to see what shots they were getting. There were two shots I'd of loved to seen but I kept my mouth shut since its rude to harass the photog.

I really hope Oracle can maintain an Apple version of Java, otherwise this will be a very sad day for people who use OSX and Java together.
Oracle has long dumped Oracle for OSX, so I'm not hopeful that Oracle Java 7 will ever see the light of day on Macs.
No Java - No OpenOffice and a load of other apps on OSX.
Also, quite a portion of Java developers use OSX too...
Even the Apple discussions board is powered by Java / JSP!
You missed the real story -- in the release notes Apple explain that they're deprecating the Apple maintained version of Java:
http://www.infoq.com/news/2010/10/apple-deprecates-java
Apple have provided a mechanism for installing 3rd party JDKs (in particular OpenJDK), but it likely won't work with current versions of Java IDEs (Netbeans, Eclipse etc) until they're updated to work with the new paths.
I wonder if this is anything to do with Oralce?

Photoshop on its own will not OCR text. Really, what you're trying to do could skip the imaging stage until the end when you're batch-processing the image files to be psds or whatever.
Assuming that Photoshop's batch processing tools under File>Automate>Batch will not produce the filenames you need, I'd look at it first of all as a workflow that first needs to parse a text file and produce blank image files in those names, even PDFs could work, the size and format is irrelevant.
Once that's done, it's a simple matter of setting up a Photoshop action to format those images to the correct dimensions, colour spaces, layers etc and then batch processing all those files into another folder.

Anyone going to wait in line tomorrow? Thinking I might head over to the store early in the afternoon to see. Probably could walk into a target or walmart and pick one up but more fun at the apple store. Who else is goin?

Thanks guys. I'm not trying to compose intricate sonnets, just some loops here and there. If you guys listen to electronic music you'll know it's largely comprised of simple loops. I guess I could use Garage Band's software keyboard to accomplish the same thing.

My brother lost his original iPhone 4 last week, and the insurance replaced it.
I just bought a white iPhone (even though I have a black one & hate white). The reason is due to its greatly improved new antenna. The white is thicker due to the improved antenna.
When compared to the brand new black one my brother got, the white is far better. The difference is so dramatic, nothings been changed on the Antennagate black phone. That's a total shame.
I was shocked, yet happy I could finally buy an iPhone 4 I'm happy with. One that has a good useable phone that doesn't drop calls or break up.
My black Speck Pixel Skin case fits good since it was a bit loose on my black one.
I'm so relieved and happy to have a great iPhone now.

Understood. In the future, you can add the editing template to an article while you're editing it to warn others not to. Usage is as follows (this automatically adds your name and the current date & time):
Thanks for the added clarification and understanding. I (as usual) overreacted, but I could tell (from your first reply in PM) that your intentions were not hostile. I will remember to use the editing code next time I post up a new guide.
Thanks again for the assistance, and I have learned some valuable wiki experience that should help avoid these types of transactions in the future.
Your help, understanding, and patience is greatly appreciated!

You didn't backup before upgrading to Lion?
A clean install of Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard is your only option, as the dozens of other already existing threads can tell you - MRoogle (http://mroogle.edesignuk.com/) might help you there.
