That was shot under the United States Naval Academy Bridge in Annapolis MD. Here is another shot from the same spot just looking out at the Naval Academy more.

@SVD thanks. I wasnt too keen on some of my earlier stuff either. I knew how I wanted to express myself but didn't know my camera well enough to. It's good to know my stuff is appreciated, thanks for the compliment. I only have the xs, 24-70L, and the speedlight. I do have studio strobes and backdrops and stuff but thats it.

Which part of the new 8 GB nano is personalized? You don't have to get an engraving...
I think he meant his nano, that he owns, is personalized.

Sept 12: Supposed release date of new Nanos
Sept 16: End of "Buy a Mac, get a free Nano" promotion.
Either there is going to be a four day mac shopping spree or perhaps iPods aren't going to be the subject of the event.
It doesn't matter...the new nanos wouldn't qualify for the promotion.
Same thing happend last year...the nanos were released before the free iPod mini promo ended.

Here is my setup
http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd515/nikumba/room.jpg
Dell 2001FP on the left hooked up to my Win7 machine under the desk
Samsun SyncMaster 2494HS on the right, now connected to my MBP that is over on the left of the desk, using a standard PC keyboard and mouse with the MBP at the moment.
The little black keyboard is a USB with trackball hooked up to the Win7 machine.
So far this is an experiment to use my MBP as my primary machine rather than just a laptop, so far so good, have sorted most things out I think.
I will eventually get rid of the Dell and but the MBP on the stand and have the Win7 machine hooked up to the VGA input on the Samsung monitor
Also ignore the dust :)

Dude, that's the specs for the current Macbook.
Yes but it does clearly state Core 2 Duo in the product name and the release date of 13th November, they could have just copied the spec of the existing one as they are unsure of the new spec. What is telling is the date, they obviously expect it to happen on the 13th

No one is making you pay for CS 5.5. Just wait and buy CS6, CS7, etc as you normally would have.
That isn't the issue mate, the issue is that Lion is around the corner and I'll bet my bottom dollar Adobe will damn well use their launch of 5.5 to justify dropping support for CS5 when it comes to Lion. So what does one do - hold back on Lion so one can keep with CS5 or upgrade to CS5.5 just to get Lion support? don't think it isn't going to happen - look at CS4 and the fact it took MONTHS for Adobe to finally fix the data corruption bug in Fireworks where it would crash on exit when running on Snow Leopard.
Sorry, I want to move to Lion as soon as it is released because there are some friggin awesome features that I really like but there are scum sucking a-holes like Adobe who will use it as yet ANOTHER reason to milk their customers.
Adobe keep whining about Apple and how they keep getting 'screwed over' and yet when are we going to see Adobe stop screwing over its customers, both Windows and Mac OS X, using the ever so slightest system change to justify charging an upgrade when what they should be doing is issuing updates and supporting their products for up to 5 years like Microsoft does (Adobe is a big enough company to carry that cost).

The G5 cases were/are absolutely giant -- to accommodate the massive amount of airflow the G5 chip needed. With this Intel chip running much cooler, it shouldn't require the need of a giant case with huge heat sinks.I was thinking that myself. If it's just a retro fit with a bunch of wasted space it just won't be right for a pro box, IMHO.

Uh oh, now you're going to unleash the fury of the autism brigade. Asperger's isn't a personality disorder!
You are correct, sir. The autistic spectrum is not a personality disorder. Uniformed people on here are not understanding the diagnostic term "personality disorder", which are a handful of particular disorders carefully defined by the DSM-IV. The term "personality" is the key word here and it carries with it a specific meaning. And, as someone else has pointed out, in contrast to a PD, autism is a "pervasive developmental disorder".

At the very least, a 13th Nov release would take away [some] of Zune's press. Or at least add some Apple PR with every other mention of Zune (besides iPod).

when are people going to learn that a high quality sensor at 5mp is better than an average one at 8mp...
higher numbers are stupid if the sensor isnt up to it..
the iphone doesnt have a massive sensor, so please apple give me a really high quality one instead of just bumping up the numbers to make it look good on a spec sheet.

If I go to the Australian Apple Store the delivery time for a Black MacBook is 3-5 days.
If I go to configure and upgrade it to 1Gb RAM the delivery time falls to 2-4 days!!!
Explain that to me all you rumo(u)r experts:confused:
Don't know, but assuming you ordered that and the BlackBook was upgraded before dispatch, you would possibly get 2GB for the same price, or the option to go down to standard 1GB config and money back. That's assuming Apple sees sense and ups it to 1GB as well as C2D.

One great thing I realized the other day is that the drop shield power up or whatever its called also restores your health which is awsome.
Yea, they wanted to combine some of the old Equipment items from Halo 3 to make them more useful. Drop Shield is a mix of the old Bubble Shield and the Regen. Active Camo mixes the old Camo and the Radar Jammer. But while it does make you invisible and jam your enemies radar, it also muffles your audio and jams your radar as well. Also, the Armor Lock puts off an EMP like effect, much like the old Power Drain, though you are obviously stuck in one place when using it. Lots of risk-reward involved in them.
I wasn't really sure how I would like the Armor Abilities, and the limited time I got with the Beta back in May didn't really help, since they were all a little broken then. But now, after playing quite a lot of Reach, I'm really enjoying them. It is really nice to always have them to use. The one-time use of the old equipment really did hinder their usage, so I can see why Bungie wanted to change. Sprint is my go-to piece, but I use Drop Shield a lot when playing Firefight.

Or if they do make it some outrageous price above that for the 23" iMac, might as well throw in a blu-ray drive right? ;) But that's probably still a ways off seeing how much external drives cost currently, probably more a MacWorld '07 announcement.

With the lack of CD with any of the iPods, does anyone know if you have to download iTunes now prior to connecting your iPod or, as one person I know suggested, you connect up the iPod and it installs from there and prompts you to do a restore after?
Just want to know for those who will be looking to buy this weekend, but do not have access to the internet yet and/or have slow dial-up.
I can't directly answer your question 'cause I had already installed iTunes 7 when I plugged in my new silver nano.
Nontheless, the weird thing is that when I first connected it I was prompted to get a software update for it: a 20+MB update that made my dial-up choke.
It seems strange that the newest product doesn't feature the latest software on it... and the only supported software AFAIK.
OTOH, the update for my 5G was a small 6MB one.

A little more from the La Monde Diplomatique article (http://mondediplo.com/2008/02/05military) ...
Higher spending, fewer jobs
On 1 May the Center for Economic and Policy Research of Washington, DC, released a study prepared by the economic and political forecasting company Global Insight on the long-term economic impact of increased military spending. Guided by economist Dean Baker, this research showed that, after an initial demand stimulus, by about the sixth year the effect of increased military spending turns negative. The US economy has had to cope with growing defence spending for more than 60 years. Baker found that, after 10 years of higher defence spending, there would be 464,000 fewer jobs than in a scenario that involved lower defence spending.
Baker concluded: “It is often believed that wars and military spending increases are good for the economy. In fact, most economic models show that military spending diverts resources from productive uses, such as consumption and investment, and ultimately slows economic growth and reduces employment”.

This is surprising. I feel like if Apple does the voice integration into iOS well enough, it could be the future of iOS. Sort of like how multitouch got things started, voice will bring it even further. I bet there were tons of people out there who were doubting touchscreens on phones 4 years ago. Everyone still wanted a keyboard.

Am I the only one who likes the needler?
The regular old Needler is fine, and there are plenty of them laying around, so replenishing ammo is fine. I just prefer the headshot-capable weapons myself. I LOVE the new Needle Rifle. It is better than the DMR, in my opinion. One of my buddies though, loves the regular Needler, like you do. He doesn't care how well or not it kills enemies, he just has a riot using it. Which is all that matters.
