Mike Quade Tells Silva to Get the Fuck Out of His City

http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/news/story?id=6263903

"I was really disappointed when I heard [Silva's comments]. First of all, he's dead f---ing wrong, OK, about my pitching coach. And I have no f---ing time for that."
Quade continued to admonish the former Cubs pitcher.
"Respect is a two-way street," he said. "I don't want to hear anything about respect. If you ain't giving it, you ain't getting it."

Now this is a baseball guy. This isn't fat Lou waiting to retire to the Fox set. Quade is starting get the tingle back in my nether regions for Cubs baseball. This guy is showing me that these won't be the lovable losers of years past. And for the first time this year, I feel like we can win this fucking divison.
Dempster, Big Z and Garza are a formidable three and compare favorable with the top 3 of other staffs in their division, especially with Adam Wainwright and Zach Grienke on the disabled list. Randy Wells is a solid 4th, so they obviously have best rotation in their divison going into Opening Day.
And when was the last time we had no expectations going into the season? This team will be able to breathe in their friendly confines for the first time in years. Quade will take the heat from the media so his players can concentrate on their jobs. He is very Ozzie Guillen-like in that way.
But that's what real baseball guys do. Coaches with fire in their bellys, do the little things to make their clubs perform better. Quade won't take shit from these guys. He won't play someone just because they make a ton of money. He isn't the kind of guy to wait 3 years to put Soriano down in the order. He's got one chance in the majors, and you can bet he is going to do things his way. He's not afraid to be the asshole when he needs to be. And its refreshing for once.
