11/01/2007: House Agreed to H.R. 3043 Labor-HHS FY 2008 Conference Request of the Senate and Appointed House Conferees Yesterday
The House appointed the following members of the House of Representatives to the Senate-House Conference Committee for this legislation: Representatives Obey, Lowey, DeLauro, Jackson (IL), Kennedy, Roybal-Allard, Lee, Udall (NM), Honda, McCollum (MN), Ryan (OH), Murtha, Edwards, Walsh (NY), Regula, Peterson (PA), Weldon (FL), Simpson, Rehberg, Young (FL), Wicker, and Lewis (CA).
The list of the full conference committee: On the House side, Representatives Obey, Lowey, DeLauro, Jackson (IL), Kennedy, Roybal-Allard, Lee, Udall (NM), Honda, McCollum (MN), Ryan (OH), Murtha, Edwards, Walsh (NY), Regula, Peterson (PA), Weldon (FL), Simpson, Rehberg, Young (FL), Wicker, and Lewis (CA). On the Senate side: Senators. Harkin, Inouye, Kohl, Mrs. Murray, Ms. Landrieu, Messrs. Durbin, Reed, Lautenberg, Byrd, Specter, Cochran, Gregg, Craig, Mrs. Hutchison, Messrs. Stevens, Shelby, and Domenici.
Defense appropriation conference committee has already been actively working for the compromise. Open question is whether these bills will be strategically presented separately or in a packet to the White House for the President's signature. We will find it out sooner or later. Please stay tuned.
Now, since the immigrant community has the full list of the members of the Senate-House conference committee, they should actively contact the members of the conference committee to support EB-3 visa number recapture bill and to oppose the H-1B supplemental fee legislation, at least to see that the former immigration bill is agreed to and the latter immigration bill is rejected at the level of conference process within the Congress. TIME IS RUNNING OUT!!! :confused:

Hey guys,
I work in a MNC, my I-140 was filed on July 16th 2007 and is still pending and they r filing my I-485 and my wife's I-485 (as dependant).
But now I came to know about my wife's labor application has been approved and they want to file my wife's I-140 and I-485 concurrently, so can I file another I-485 through my wife's employer for my wife as primary and me being dependant to my wife.
I know this question must be asked a lot of times but does anybody has done it or not done it, please share your experiences.

b1 and h1b are trade issues.
eb visa is an immigration issue.
could'nt have put it better myself. B1 and H1 has direct impact on the businesses in India (who are BTW paying lobbyists to influence ministers and trade groups to make such requests to increase the visas). Why does anyone in India care what the EB visa limit it?

Hi,
Currently working with Company A, where I have I-140 approved. The employer is willing to file I-485. Also have a better offer with Company B, and have H1B approved. Is it possible for me to take leave from company A (using my PTO) and joint company B, keeping both jobs on H1B status?
As my H1B is valid with 2 companies, and both are for full time positions. Is it okay for me to be actively employed with both companies at the same time for 2 or 3 months? Do I violate any H1B regulation, that may cause denial of I-485 at later stage?

I didnt mean to burst your bubble...but may be its just that you are getting another finger printing notice. Its expires in 15 months. If you read the other forums July 07 filers have started getting their next set of FP notices. I wouldnt get too carried away.

I am on H1 visa. 485 pending, and have EAD. However the 1 yr period of EAD is nearing, the EAD expiry date is Aug 20. We have already applied for EAD renewal and have recieved 'notice of receipt' for the application.
My question is can I use EAD and change job while EAD renewail is in process? The problem is that the current employer may be closing this dept in few weeks and therefore, I will be losing this job. I would like to know if i can join a new job while EAD renewal is in progress.
Any suggestions please

You can, for the duration of your current EAD. If you get your new EAD before that, then everything is fine. If not, you might have to stop working on the expiry date of your current EAD till you get the new one.

FYI...Anybody who has an appointment for a Visa stamping on Oct 1st at the U.S Consulate in Chennai, India, please contact the VFS office (91-44-4231-6767) to find out your new date of appointment (which the Consulate says, will be in the same week), if they have not intimated you by email already.

Coming to your question: The answer is YES. I did not verify anywhere but used my logical thinking. That if you need a visitors visa to travel to UK, then you need a visitors visa for your wife too, to travel to UK, UNLESS she is a UK citizen or a PR of UK.

If the form has a provision to include all the names that are going to travel then you dont obviously need another one. Else you need another form.

hello all,
I wanted a clarification regarding address change:
My company changed address recently from address City A to address City B (same county, same metropolitan area). Do you know if I need to do any LCA Amendment?
I had consulted a lawyer regarding this, he said we don't need to do any LCA Amendment since it is the same metropolitan area.
Also I am not getting any clear answers from any other websites.
Wanted to cross check with you all. If anybody know please help.

look at the vfs website (you will get a link to it from consulate website). They have specified some particular HDFC branches in metros, where you can deposit the fee to get the receipt.

I'm interested in purchasing a better Nikon Zoom lens for my D70s. I have the 18-70 DX lens (which is great), but I also have the basic 55-200mm zoom (which I am not happy with). I've been searching online for a 70-300 Nikon lens & I can't figure out which one to get. There's the 70-300mm f/4-5.6D ED AF Zoom-Nikkor & the 70-300mm f/4-5.6G AF Zoom-Nikkor. Which is the better model, the D series or the G series? I'd like to get the new 70-300 VR, but my pocket can't handle that right now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know if there would be some kind of record about
when and how many times we have spoken to the IIO.
Like will a IIO be able to look at one's receipt# and say if they have spoken to an IIO earlier that day or whenever that is?
