Everytime I upgrade to a new version of LR I try Aperture, I tend to find it struggles badly on my Mac Mini - Lightroom doesn't set the world on fire in terms of performance - but it works.
For me LR is a more polished application, I have no issues with the interface (used it from Beta version) or the need to switch from Library to Develop modules.

If the price is right, I'd be willing to sell it. I will add some pictures tonight. The included pic is what the laptop looks like. Mine is in pretty good condition. There are only a few scratches on it.

WHAT!!! As if. All of apples headline style computers are way cool. We shouldnt have to put up with faults. A fault would mean it is no longer the coolest looking machine ever.

Trying to work with my mind really on the new product. But we have iOS 4 to look forward to - when will that be released?
tomorrow but not sure on time wise.... if you knew links you could have gotten iOS 4 gold masters a long time ago its a full 4.0 but under a tester.... i have it i gotta say its pretty awsome;)

how did you verify that the adapter you referenced on amazon will take a 24 pin zif cable? I'm reading elsewhere that adapters for this interface simply don't exist which doesn't make sense :(

At this point it is the best guess I can make. Given that it is SATA and the ZIF-24 is SATA. Though I am starting to think it will not work. I'll know when it arrives. I could always use a ZIF-40 adapter at some point. If that is what it turns out to be.
Anyways I managed to verify the power button of the Air's top case was faulty and shorted the correct pins on the motherboard to fire it up. The computer booted and is currently backing up the hard drive and awaiting a replacement top case.

We only have two sleds but I went with Hitachi Deskstar, HDS722020ALA330. There's a jumper on the back but it's unlabeled and mostly undocumented. I don't know what it does, and it didn't matter.
As a precaution, which I think was important, I put each drive on an SATA USB adapter with my MacBook and formatted them both to HFS+ with APM. Apparently the controllers hate GPT.
They both worked perfectly, much to my pleasant surprise.

Ya I was kidding about the instructions... I made sure that I calibrated the battery. Ya so far no latch troubles, so I am pretty happy. No dead pixels either.

This is just more proof that Apple just isn't paying enough attention to education...
I'm referring of course to the incorrect use of "it's" in the quoted sentence. If the folks at Apple had only paid more attention to their education, they would know the difference between "it's" and "its"! :)
I don't know how popular this service was, or how much material was on it, but it sounds to me as though iTunes U will not be an exact replacement. I hope that announcing this right before the school year starts for most teachers will not be putting too many people out...
