AFAIK you cannot use your SSN to receive google adsense revenues if you want to continue on H1B. It counts as business income and Google will send you a 1099 form and that is not allowed on an H1B. What people usually do is get someone in their home country to be the Google Adsense beneficiary. If you use your own ssn, on paper, it puts you out of H1B status.

Passive income is alright. AFAIK banks send you 1099 if you earn interest in your saving account (above a certain amount) or CD. Have to report it to IRS.

I don't think the extension tube affects the optical quality, there is no added glass. What you see is perhaps an effect of increased magnification plus loss of light, leading to the need for a faster shutter speed. Using both a teleconverter and extension tube means more risk for camera shake and as you also get closer you may have more motion blur. What shutter speed did you get for the geese images?
The two birds I posted were photographed at a bird feeding table next to a walkway, they were not very afraid of humans. I had to sit very still close to a tree though as the distance was not more than 12-15 feet. I have tried using camoflage clothes as well as a blind but I think you still have to visit the same place for an extended period to let the birds get used to the addition of the blind or you-posing-as-a-bush in their environment.

My 485 got denied Oct14th as my previous employer withdrawn approved 140. I changed employer after 1year of 485 pending. I (Lawyer) filed MTR on NOV 6th. Got mtr granted yesterday.PM me if you need more details

I don't have the stats right in front of me, but it is my impression that except for a few odd years (FY06 comes to mind), EB-1 did not max out its numbers. Using EB-1 for L-1 executives is a relatively new idea.

I'm from ROW, my spouse and me both have EAD and AP. But our I-485 is pending. My spouse isn't working but would be travelling to Germany next year while I won't be travelling with her.
1. Is a good idea just to apply only EAD renewal for me and AP for her to save some bucks?
2. How soon will the service center accept the renewal applications before they expire?
3. What if I file these renewal by myself and don't use a lawyer. Will it make a difference?
4. What paper work do I need to submit with my applications for renewal either by online or manual?
5. What are the implications of not having to apply EAD for my spouse. Is she going to be out of status once her EAD expire?

My situation is as under : " My case is in removal proceedings for violating H1b status for 3 months due to laid off situation, i am working on H1b now and my labor is approved and I-140 is pending, now my priority date is become current for I-485 filing", now who will adjudicate my case, INS or EOIR court, where will i file my I-485.
will court close my removal proceedings based on PD current..

I-140 onwards. If you are filling in a form for visa stamping or are in the US on TN-1 visa or F-1 visa you are ok with filing an LC. Its the I-140 that determines immigration intent and can potentially interfere with your other status (or will require you to disclose your immigration intent on visa applications questions like "has someone ever filed an immigraiton petition on your behalf")

I just got approved for my 3 year extension I am on my 7 th year now.
I just got a request from HR saying that I need to sign a promissory note for the total amount spent by my employer on H1b realted fees.
So in short they are asking me to sing the promissory note to get reimbursement for part of the lawyer fees I had paid for this visa extension.
Here are the important points:
0. Total amount is like $3K.
1. 50% owed after 1 year
2. 0% owed after two years of service.
3. 100% owed when employment is terminated by either party :-0
4. 10% per annum interest after the 31st day of termination.
Is this even legal , or it lies in the gray areas for any body to interpret anything they want.
I dont care about the money, but I think this is borderline harassment.
Note:This is not a desi consulting co.

Sorry I didnt make it clear about changing status to visitors visa. I am aware that it will not be an automatic switch.
I am wondering how difficult it is to switch to visitors visa status or to extend H1b for few months? Do people have high success rate or is it full of hassle (trying to extend stay on visitor/H1 status)?
ABIM board is an exam we take after finishing residency. I would prefer to finish it now immediately after residency.
I will try to meet up with an attorney in near future and discuss these issues, will be glad to share any new important info.

However, I can't help but feel slightly envious. The ducks approach me too, but as soon as I whip my camera out they dart away (only to return as soon as the camera is safely tucked back into the bag again).
OTOH, I don't bring duck-food with me... :)
On a more serious note: Aren't you afraid of making them a tad too tame? Won't they become easy prey once the wabbit season is over and duck season starts? (Crispy duck tastes extremely good, but I try to avoid eating duck if I can help it -- they're just too cute! :D)

EAD Renewal can be filed if EAD has expired or will expire within 120 days. The process is the same for both and can be done on your own - Its really simple
If you efile you have to go for biometrics. If you paper file you need to send photos. I don't think there is much difference in the time for approval
