Two And A Half Men star Charlie Sheen will be back at work in two weeks

Back to work: Charlie Sheen is set to return to filming in two weeks

Charlie Sheen is set to make an early return to the set of Two And A Half Men.

The trouble actor is currently receiving personalised rehab at his Los Angeles home following a 36-hour cocaine and alcohol-fuelled bender with porn stars which left him hospitalised.

But his lawyer has revealed that the 45-year-old actor will be back to work by the end of the month.

The actor was initially advised to undergo a 90-day rehab detox programme and it was thought he would be away from filming his sitcom for the duration.

Sheen's agent, Stan Rosenfield, said they were hopeful of him getting back to filming by the end of February.

Sitcom: Two and a Half Men has been on hiatus since Sheen's 36-hour bender two weeks ago, seen here with co-stars Jon Cryer, left, and Angus T. Jones

And today Sheen's lawyer confirmed the news, saying: 'I can confirm Stan's statement from last week. Charlie Sheen is planning to return to work by two weeks from today.'

Dr. Drew Pinsky, of Celebrity Rehab, is among those who have questioned the actor's decision to avoid traditional treatment in a facility.

'He has a life-threatening illness,' he told People magazine.

Troubled stars like Sheen, who has been to rehab on several occasions, 'need a long term of structure for them to capitulate and take direction and not think they know better or know what they need to do,' he says.

'Charlie's been in recovery before. He's actually been an active recovering person, so he knows what it is.'

'Let's all be hopeful he's going in the right direction,' Pinsky added.

Pals: Porn stars Kacey Jordan, left, and Bree Olson, right

Earlier this week celebrity website TMZ claimed Sheen was texting his porn star pals, including Bree Olson and Kacey Jordan, telling them the party was over.
One text read: 'Right now we are on lockdown.'

In another, sent this week, he wrote: 'Please lose the number, we are closed ... please drive through ... thank you.'
