Katie Price to add some glamour to BBC Radio 4's Today? Jordan enters talks to guest edit alongside John Humphrys

The new face of radio? Katie Price is in talks to be a guest editor for BBC's Radio 4's Today programme

Katie Price has already managed to transform herself from a glamour model, to an author, to an equestrian, but her latest job offer might be the most shocking of all.

The former Page Three girl is in talks to be the next guest editor on BBC radio’s Today programme – the broadcaster’s long-running news and current affairs show.

The Radio 4 programme, which features confrontational political interviews and in-depth reports, might not usually discuss the dalliances of celebrities such as Jordan, but that might all be about to change.

Each year since 2003, Today has chosen five guest editors from different walks of life over the holiday season and Katie has apparently made the cut this year, according to The Times.

She will be responsible for between a third and a half of each show’s content for an episode between Christmas and the New Year

Jordan’s spokesperson described the proposal last night as ‘intriguing’.

He told the newspaper: ‘It would be a great project. There is more to Katie than meets the eye.’

The 32-year-old mother-of-three would work alongside some of the show’s regular presenters, including John Humphrys, James Naughtie, Evan Davis, Sarah Montague and Justin Webb.

In previous years, Today has boasted the likes of Bono, David Hockney, Stephen Hawking, the Duchess of York and the Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams as guest editors.

But with Katie’s vast array of work experience, from reality TV shows to an attempt at a pop career, surely she can tackle being a guest editor with as much enthusiasm.

A spokesperson for BBC News said that Today had ‘not yet finalised the line-up’ of guest editors, but an announcement is due to be released soon.
