Anastacia doesn't try to hide her post-surgery 'war wound' as she soaks up the Sardinian sun in a gold bikini

When she bounded onto the music scene in 2000 with debut single I'm Outta Love, her washboard abs were the envy of millions of women worldwide.
And now, over a decade later, Anastacia showed she's as toned as ever on holiday with a friend in Sardinia.

The 41-year-old singer's gold metallic bikini highlighted her tan perfectly as she relaxed on a sunlounger on the beach of Hotel Pitrizza, Porto Cervo after her concert in Hotel Cala di Volpe.


A judge on Channel Five's Don't Stop Believing, she makes no attempt to hide a four-inch scar on her stomach which she considers a 'war wound'.

Wearing a pair of trendy white sunglasses, Anastacia looked happy as she made the most of the sunshine, although she was forced to ask hotel staff for a more comfortable sun lounger after complaining the one she had hurt her back.

The singer later covered up in an unusual green kaftan as she walked down the beach with a friend.

Anastacia picked up her 'war wound' after having surgery for Crohn's disease when she was 13.

She told Hello! magazine: 'I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, an inflammatory condition of the bowel. I found a lump in my abdomen and that's when doctors discovered I had Crohn's.

'I have a four-inch scar on my tummy where surgeons removed this mass from inside. I used to be ashamed of this scar but by the time I was 30 I didn't mind flashing my belly.

'To me the scar is like a war wound - it proves I survived.'

Anastacia is also a breast cancer survivor, having been diagnosed with the disease in 2003 after a routine check-up and subsequent mammogram.

She had surgery to remove the tumour and a breast reconstruction procedure to complete her recovery process.

Anastacia, who filed for divorce from bodyguard husband Wayne Newton in April, also revealed recently she is considering following in the footstep of Sheryl Crow by adopting as a single mother.

She said: 'I'm not sure if I want children. I would consider adopting actually. I'm feeling maternal, like a "Momastacia".

'I love buying presents for my godchildren. In fact, they call me "Anna Claus". It's so much more fun buying for others.'

Asked what she finds attractive in a man, Anastacia added: 'Funny guys attract me, but I also like men who are opposite me.

'Now I'm finding myself drawn to different types. This young surfer dude was on American Idol and I thought he was cute. Does that make me a cougar?'
