I'm The Honorable 'Sass and I endorse that ass-whooping.A 25-year-old New York City graduate student is threatening to sue a T-Shirt designer after being assaulted for wearing one of his designs.
The woman bought a $69 shirt from Apollo Braun’s Manhattan boutique that bore the words, “Obama is my slave.” When she wore the shirt on Tuesday, four teenage girls accosted her - shoving her, pulling out her earphones, and spitting in her face, according to the New York edition of Metro News.
The unnamed woman is reportedly seeking solace by suing Braun - born Doron Braunshtein - for “all he’s got,” the designer claims. He, of course, is shirking any responsibility for the incident and says that the shirt reflects the views of “ordinary WASPs.”
“For a lot of people, when they see Obama, they see a slave. People think America is not ready for a black president,” the Israeli-born designer said.
No, I don't really but seriously, people think it's cute to do dumb shit and expect that everything will be alright. You're within your rights to wear anything you want on a t-shirt no matter how crude or offensive it is. True enough. But don't wear something irresponsible and expect that you're going to be the only one that's going to be getting ignorant in public and nobody else is capable of getting ignorant too. God didn't stop making wild niggas after you. Expect people to react to you if you do something dumb and if you're going to take that risk in the first place and go into a certain environment that might act hostile in reaction to wearing a racist shirt then maybe you shouldn't wear it around them. Sort of like walking through a kennel with an outfit made of bacon. You're allowed to do it, but it's dumb and you're doing something purposely trying to illicit a response. Be grown-up enough to deal with the consequences.
